Tajik Judoka Nurali Emomali Won Gold at the Tashkent Grand Slam – 2023

He defeated his Uzbek opponent in the weight category up to 66 kg.
Tajik judoka Nurali Emomali on March 3 – on the first day of the Tashkent Grand Slam – 2023 – won a gold medal.

In the category up to 66 kg, Nurali Emomali defeated the hero of the local stands Sardor Nurillaev, receiving an ippon for a brilliantly executed ko-uchi-gari sweep, the International Judo Federation (IJF) reports.

The Tajik judoka received his first gold medal at the Grand Slam tournament from the hands of the Minister of Youth Policy and Sports of Uzbekistan Adkham Ikramov.

Before the final duel, Emomali Nurali defeated opponents from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and France.

Recall that 13 athletes from Tajikistan take part in the tournament in Uzbekistan. The competition will run until March 5th. 384 sportsmen from 52 countries of the world take part in them. Of these, 205 men and 179 women.

Today at the tournament, according to the competition calendar, judokas will perform in the weight categories up to 73 and 81 kg among men, up to 63 and 70 kg among women. In the Tajik team in these categories are Behruz Khojazoda, Makhmadsharif Najmiddinov (up to 73 kg), Somon Makhmadbekov, Muhammadjon Abdujalilov (up to 81 kg).

The prize fund of the tournament is €154,000. The winners of the tournament in each weight category will receive 5,000 euros, the winners of silver medals – 3,000 euros, bronze – 1.5 thousand euros. Among athletes, rating points for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris will also be played.
