China’s aggression against India, Taiwan ‘unacceptable’: US Senators tell Blinken ahead of Beijing visit

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen are set to visit Beijing early next month. Meanwhile, the Senators, in a letter, stated the Chinese aggression against India and Taiwan is unacceptable. They also urged the leaders to not give the CCP a propaganda win.

Scores of Republican Senators, led by Marco Rubio from Florida, on Wednesday wrote to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken regarding China’s blatant aggression against Taiwan and India.

The letter was also addressed to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, who, along with Blinken, is set to visit Beijing

Blinken would be the first top US diplomat to visit Beijing since 2018.

According to the contents of the letter, the Republican lawmakers have urged Blinken and Yellen to tell the Chinese leadership that their blatant aggression against Taiwan and India in the Himalayas is “unacceptable”.

Further, the Senators have urged both leaders to refrain from giving the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) a propaganda win and hold the CCP accountable for its egregious human rights abuses, unfair trade practices, leading role in the fentanyl crisis and aggression towards allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific.
